Project

The Hoorn Studies project is a prospective study based in the West Friesland region of the Netherlands that aims to determine the factors influencing the incidence and progression of type 2 diabetes.

Experiment summary

The Hoorn Diabetes Care System cohort consists of type 2 diabetics for whom clinical measurements are taken annually. Samples were genotyped using the Illumina HumanCoreExome chip array and imputed to HRC reference via the Michigan imputation server. Phenotypes were normalised using inverse rank-based normalisation on the residuals of a linear model adjusting for age, sex, and 4 Principal Components. The top 10 Principal Components were used as covariates in this analysis.

In the Hoorn DCS 2019 dataset, phenotypes were measured across multiple timepoints (annual visits) for each patient. Associations displayed in the Portal currently represent only the first timepoint.
