GIANT is an international collaboration that seeks to identify genetic loci that modulate human body size and shape, including height and measures of obesity.

Experiment summary

A meta-analysis of genetic associations for BMI, waist-hip ratio, and waist circumference from more than 200,000 adults was performed by Graff et al. (see citation above). Samples are stratified by sex, ancestry, and physical activity level (active or inactive). This dataset represents the male, European-ancestry subset of the GIANT GWAS stratified by physical activity dataset.
