Experiment summary
This GWAS meta-analysis of 43800 individuals of mixed ancestry identified 59 loci for skull bone mineral density (including four novel signals at ZIC1, PRKAR1A, AZIN1/ATP6V1C1, and GLRX3) explaining ~12.5% of trait variance, and highlighted pleiotropic links to craniosynostosis and skeletal development pathways.
