Experiment summary

This study performed GWAS on 704 cases with vitiligo and 9031 controls and identified a major association specific to early-onset cases: an MHC class II enhancer haplotype (including rs145954018 and rs9271597) that confers high risk and increases HLA-DQB1 expression, highlighting regulatory variation as a key driver of early-onset autoimmune vitiligo.
