Experiment summary
This methods study introduces a faster mixed-model association framework (BOLT-LMM) optimized for biobank-scale GWAS, improving statistical power while controlling confounding and substantially reducing compute time. The approach is demonstrated on large UK Biobank datasets and is designed to scale efficiently across many traits. The technique was applied on GWAS from 105501 cases with allergies and 353198 controls of European ancestry.
